In FY 2013, NFWF was selected by the Department of the Interior (DOI) to administer the $100 million Hurricane Sandy Coastal Resiliency Competitive Grant Program.

The Hurricane Sandy Coastal Resiliency partnership was expanding in fiscal year 2015 to include a stronger focus on metrics and evaluation. The Department of the Interior (DOI) provided $18 million to support efforts to develop and implement socioeconomic metrics, evaluate program outcomes, and develop lesson learned material associated with the 54 grants approved in 2014.
