The National Coastal Resilience Fund receives support from AT&T to restore, increase and strengthen natural and nature-based solutions in order to reduce risks to coastal communities, including underserved neighborhoods that are often most vulnerable to extreme weather events, and enhance habitats for fish and wildlife.
AT&T and NFWF began working together to build resilience for coastal communities through the National Coastal Resilience Fund (NCRF) in 2020. Through this collaboration, NFWF will invest in projects designed to restore, increase and strengthen natural infrastructure to reduce risks to communities, with a focus on underserved and minority communities, from the growing impacts of sea-level rise, flooding, and increased frequency and intensity of storms, and enhance habitats for fish and wildlife.
This conservation collaboration supports NFWF’s efforts through the NCRF to restore or expand natural systems such as coastal marshes and wetlands, dune and beach systems, oyster and coral reefs, forests, coastal rivers and floodplains, and barrier islands, features that can help to minimize the impacts of future storms and other naturally occurring events on coastal communities.
National Coastal Resilience Fund
The National Coastal Resilience Fund restores, increases and strengthens natural infrastructure to protect coastal communities while also enhancing habitats for fish and wildlife. Established in 2018, the National Coastal Resilience Fund invests in conservation projects that restore or expand natural features such as coastal marshes and wetlands, dune and beach systems, oyster and coral reefs, forests, coastal rivers and floodplains, and barrier islands that minimize the impacts of storms and other naturally occurring events on nearby communities.
