NFWF and the Department of the Interior Bureau of Land Management (BLM) have partnered for 20 years to support conservation efforts that benefit public land ecosystems. During that time, NFWF has leveraged $42 million in BLM-appropriated funds into more than $169 million to support habitat restoration and species recovery activities. In FY2011, NFWF leveraged $2.9 million in BLM funds into more than $12.9 million for conservation projects focused on native fish and plant habitat restoration, Gunnison sage grouse and lesser prairie-chicken recovery, and the conservation of key desert habitats. In FY2011, NFWF partnered with BLM and FS on a youth conservation employment program which will provide more than 500 youth with hands-on conservation opportunities.
