In FY 2013, NFWF was selected by the Department of the Interior (DOI) to administer the $100 million Hurricane Sandy Coastal Resiliency Competitive Grant Program. The program is designed to assess, restore, enhance or create wetlands, beaches and other natural systems to better protect communities, as well as fish and wildlife species and habitats, from the impacts of future storms and natural events. NFWF is coordinating closely with DOI bureaus to maximize the conservation impact of the projects being developed. Projects were selected by the Secretary of the Interior in 2014.
In 2014, NFWF was selected to serve as a fiduciary and grants administrator for non-federal 21st Century Conservation Service Corps (21CSC) funds raised by DOI.
