Description: Recruit Alaskan youth through the Alaska Service Corps Program and work with partners to provide the youth with on-the-job mentoring and job skills development. A crew of seven AmeriCorps members will work for four weeks on projects that include mitigating human use impacts along a major Coho spawning stream by reducing trails and stream crossings, re-vegetating stream banks, re-developing a historic recreational trail by installing boardwalk sections, and removing invasive reed canary grass in order to re-establish native plants and improve soil conditions.
