Restoration Gulf Coast: Louisiana Flyway

More waterfowl winter in Coastal Louisiana than any other place in North America. It is critical that these birds have wetland habitat in which to break their journey. Each November, Louisianna farmers flood tens of thousands of acres of rice fields to give millions of birds a point of refuge. This effort is made possible through grants from the Recovered Oil Fund for Wildlife, administered by NFWF.
