Description:

Construct and install a handicap-accessible kayak launch on the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge, near the new John D. Dingell Visitor Center. This launch will provide access for visitors to experience a variety of outdoor recreational opportunities, including kayaking, hunting and fishing.

The Refuge includes islands, coastal wetlands, marshes, shoals and waterfront lands along 48 miles of the Detroit River and Western Lake Erie shorelines. To date, the Refuge includes 6,202 acres of land owned or cooperatively managed by the USFWS and 7,897 acres owned by the Michigan DNR.
