Search for breeding colonies of Newell's shearwater and Hawaiian petrel to determine if birds detected in previous surveys are prospecting or breeding on Oahu. Project will test and develop thermal imaging drones to detect burrow nesting seabirds on a landscape scale, deploy song meters at strategic locations, visit each site monthly to retrieve data for rapid analysis and coordinate intensive visual and ground searching.
