The Nature Conservancy and partners will implement prescribed burning and longleaf habitat restoration on 33,824 acres of public and private lands within the Sandhills region of North Carolina, which encompasses Fort Bragg and Uwharrie National Forest. Project will support burn crews to increase burning capacity and assist with mid-story control and other management, improving habitat for Bachman's sparrow, red-cockaded woodpecker, and northern bobwhite.
