Description:

Construct a community-wide green street project in Silver Spring, Maryland with 67 rain gardens, bioretention gardens, and tree box filters to improve water quality. In collaboration with Rock Creek Conservancy, the green infrastructure work will educate and engage the community while reducing 133 lbs/yr nitrogen, 20 lbs/yr phosphorous, and 35 tons/yr sediment pollution to Rock Creek, the Potomac River, and the Chesapeake Bay. The project will utilize knowledge from Rock Creek Conservancy's completed NFWF Grant 53893, which focused on Community Based Social Marketing outreach.
