North Carolina Coastal Federation will implement 1) benthic and estuarine habitat restoration and 2) tidal marsh restoration at Carolina Beach State Park. The benthic and estuarine habitat restoration component will construct offshore and intertidal and subtidal patch oyster reef habitat, connected by shoreline stabilization structures. The living shoreline design, totaling approximately 5 acres, will stabilize eroding shorelines along the park, and provide fish and benthic habitat. The tidal marsh restoration component will restore tidal hydrology to 13.5 acres of impaired marsh within the park.
