Advance longleaf pine habitat restoration on 11,860 acres of private and public lands in southeastern Virginia through longleaf seedling planting, prescribed burning, selective timber thinning and groundcover restoration. Project will benefit savanna-dependent bird spcies, including northern bobwhite, and also will support red-cockaded woodpecker recovery through translocation of birds to the Great Dismal Swamp National Wildlife Refuge.
