Description:

Establish a prescribed burn team to expand capacity in south Mississippi and restore longleaf pine habitat, benefitting several endangered and at-risk species such as the dusky gopher frog, gopher tortoise, black pine snake, and northern bobwhite. Project will restore and enhance more than 1,200 acres of longleaf pine through plantings and prescribed burning, and create forest management plans to guide restoration and management efforts on land trust managed properties.
