Test gear modifications in the lobster gillnet fishery for potential in reducing hawksbill sea turtle bycatch at priority sites in El Salvador. Project will continue to monitor bycatch across three sites in and near the Gulf of Fonseca and build collaborative relationships with fishing communities to identify and test economically neutral or beneficial options for reducing unsustainable bycatch.
Amendment incorporates the modifications to the testing methodology that was recommended at a NFWF-hosted workshop, increases the number of vessels participating due to increased interest and extends the gear testing for one year.
