Description:

Build capacity of and empower Alaskan youth (ages 18-25) to support conservation efforts in the poorly understood barrier island ecosystems of northern Alaska, and communicate to the public the importance and vulnerability of these ecosystems. Project will train three rural and urban Alaskan youth to develop educational videos about the people and wildlife that depend on this environment, and train one rural or urban Alaskan youth as a field research technician, who will work closely with a field crew to evaluate the impacts of climate change and development on breeding common eiders at Kasegaluk Lagoon.
