Establish 318 acres of longleaf pine and enhance 11,465 acres of existing longleaf habitat through prescribed burning and removal of mid-story hardwoods, and increase potential cavity trees for the endangered red-cockaded woodpecker. Project will expand private landowner and community outreach efforts, including a community event dedicated to increasing awareness of prescribed fire.
