The Cuyama River project area is 49 miles north of Ventura on Hwy. 33, west of the intersection Highway 33 and Lockwood Valley Road. Rancho Nuevo Creek and Deal Canyon are tributaries of the Cuyama River, which lie to the west of the Cuyama in the western-most portion of the Dick Smith Wilderness.
