Description:

Trout Unlimited, Inc. will replace a road-stream crossing to reconnect 9.7 miles of coldwater habitat and provide full passage for aquatic organisms in a stream targeted for future brook trout reintroduction. Project will also address flood resiliency and in-stream habitat impairments by installing a passage structure that will mimic natural stream bed and may include pools, riffles, and other habitat features.

Located in Hector NY along Breakneck Creek, drains to Seneca Lake. Approx. 70% of culvert watershed located on FLNF lands. Project is third of 3 phases in Hector; 1st, 2nd are road-stream crossing on Spring Brook, draining to Cayuga Lake. All 3 part of overall FS Brook Trout reintroduction project.
