The Wetlands Initiative will establish high-quality native prairie and wetland habitat containing significant milkweed resources and a diversity of nectar sources to benefit breeding and migrating monarchs. The project will restore and enhance 479 acres and collect 5 pounds of regionally adapted milkweed seed to use at Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie and other restoration sites in Illinois.
