Description:

Improve downstream water quality, provide flood attenuation for the Town of Glasgow, and engage regional partners to provide outreach and promote similar projects in other small localities. Project will result in a constructed wetland and bioretention facility, annually reducing 10.99 pounds of phosphorus, 89.43 pounds of nitrogen, and 3.13 tons of sediment from entering local waters.

The Town of Glasgow is located at the confluence of the James and Maury Rivers in the southeastern portion of Rockbridge County. A small locality, Glasgow is home to 1,046 people. The majority of the town is located within the 100 year floodplain and suffers from flooding issues.
