Description:

MacGillivray Freeman Films Educational Foundation requests funding to develop a 3-D giant-screen film (commonly known as an IMAX® theater film) tentatively titled OCEAN PLANET. The project encompasses “Phase One” of the production of an approximate 40-minute film with a proposed 2020 release to international theaters located in renowned museums and science centers. Phase One will comprise research, a detailed film treatment, budgeting, and assembly of an academic advisory team. Phase One will also include cinematography for the film in spectacular under-and-above-water locations in Cuba and Brazil. Footage obtained will be used to develop at least one sequence, which will be used to promote the project and to secure funding for the remaining production of the film and educational outreach programs. Film footage obtained will be made available to film partners, such as Alucia Productions and NFWF, to further their educational missions.
