Description:

This grant will accelerate implementation of the Minnesota Agricultural Water Quality Certification Program (MAWQCP) in the Upper Mississippi River Basin. MAWQCP is a voluntary opportunity for farmers to take the lead in implementing conservation practices as part of a comprehensive natural resource conservation plan that protects our water and improves wildlife habitat. This grant will provide additional technical assistance for 30 animal waste management systems and 50 erosion control projects required for producers and landowners to become MAWQCP certified, leveraging state Clean Water funds, Farm Bill programs, and NRCS conservation practices.
