The Nature Conservancy - Georgia Chapter will restore longleaf pine on family forest lands damaged by the West Mims wildfire in south Georgia and northeast Florida. Project will establish 2,000 acres of longleaf pine on fire-impacted lands and reduce fuel loads on 50,000 acres of exsiting longleaf forests through thinnings and prescribed burns, reducing the likelihood of future catastrophic wildfires.
