Description:

CIR will treat Tamarisk adults and seedlings in the upper headwaters of the Santa Ynez River watershed within the National Forest from the top of the watershed to Gibraltar Dam. This will include the main stem of the river, Indian Creek, Moraga Creek, Mono Creek, Buckhorn Creek, Pie Canyon, Camuesa Creek, Little Caliente Canyon, Rose Canyon, Horse Canyon, Agua Caliente Canyon, Diablo Canyon, Juncal Canyon, Gidney Creek, Alder Creek, Morse Creek, Fox Creek, Escondido Canyon and unnamed tributaries. A GIS and report will be produced that will include the numbers of adults treated, number of seedlings pulled out, miles of streams and river surveyed, number of acres treated, methods, maps, tables, a database,photographs of all treated areas, and a treatment plan for any untreated areas.

The upper Santa Ynez River watershed is almost entirely within the Dick Smith Wilderness of the Los Padres National Forest. The upper parts of Indian Creek and Mono Creek are within the within the Zaca Fire Scar.
