Description:

The Los Padres Forest Association (LPFA) is requesting funds from the NFWF Jesusita Fire Restoration Program to provide advanced trail restoration training for the Santa Barbara Frontcountry (SBFC) trail community, evaluate and design a trail plan for the trails affected by the Jesusita Fire and work with the SBFC trail community to restore sections of those trails that are suffering from extreme erosion damage. We will organize a trail training that will teach SBFC stakeholders how to assess trail needs and how to go about completing those trail needs no matter how complicated they might be. Ultimately we’ll work together with the stakeholders and agencies (Los Padres National Forest, County of Santa Barbara County and Santa Barbara City) to restore those sections of impacted trails that were damaged by the Jesusita Fire.

Los Padres National Forest, north of Santa Barbara within the Jesusita Fire scar. Trails impacted by the fire include: Romero Fire Road, Romero Trail, Rattlesnake Connector, Rattlesnake Trail, Rattlesnake Gibraltar Connector, Cold Spring Trail, West Fork Cold Spring, Tunnel Trail and Jesusita Trail.
