NFWF Grant Profile

Increase local government and community management capacity to conserve biodiversity of coral reef ecosystems in six marine protected areas along the Verde Island Passage in the Philippines. Project will enhance marine protected area planning and zoning, reduce conflicts of use of ocean spaces to address the growing population and demand for local resources, and provide conservation-based economic incentives to reduce unsustainable fishing practices.
