The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department will establish an integrated disease management system approach aimed at minimizing white-nose syndrome (WNS) mortality amongst tricolored bats in Texas. This project will use multiple mitigation approaches, including high-pressure steam cleaning, application of polyethylene glycol (PEG), and volatile organic compound (VOC) treatments, to reduce WNS-related mortality, and slow the spread of Pseudogymnoascus destructans (Pd), the causal agent of WNS.
