Reduce barn owl presence in and around endangered seabird colonies, including Newell’s shearwater, Hawaiian petrel, band-rumped storm-petrel and Laysan albatross, on the North, West and East shores of Kauai and on Lehua Islet. Project will form a “Rapid Response Unit” to respond to episodic predator activity in and around nesting areas, reduce predation impacts by other predators on Laysan albatross and use nest monitoring data to assess the efficacy of control efforts.
