Hire eight young adults to create mobile forestry technician crews that will assist U.S. Forest Service timber managers by performing 15,000 acres of prescribed burns and accelerating timber harvest of thousands of acres of planted, offsite pine plantations to replace with longleaf pine. Project will assist the Forest Service with recruiting quality, diverse candidates and experienced fire technicians to meet capacity needs to carry out ecological prescribed burns to manage and restore longleaf pine.
