Prepare project designs for integrated floodplain protection and restoration along the lower 3 miles of the Big Quilcene River. Project will reduce flood risk, improve salmon and shellfish habitat while enhancing water quality, recreational access, and economic vitality in the local community. Prepare two enhancement plans for the Quilcene area, a recreational enhancement plan and education enhancement plan. Plans will determine where areas for improvement lie and how restoration of the river, floodplain and estuary may enhance recreational and educational opportunities. The money requested will cover contractual services and staff time.
