Purchase approximately 6,600 acre-feet of surface water located in the Walker River Basin, Nevada for the primary purpose of restoring Walker Lake. This proposal is to acquire a portion of the water rights necessary to achieve the primary purposes of the Walker Basin Restoration Program(WBRP). The proposal is to acquire water rights and related interests from two (2) properties as described in detail in the memorandums attached. The first deal is for approximately 2,600 acre-feet of surface water for $7,250,000 plus estimated closing costs of $111,540 for a total of $7,361,540. The second property deal is for approximately 4,000 acre-feet of surface water for $12,250,000 plus estimated closing costs of $188,460 for a total of $12,438,460. These acquisitions would achieve approximately 9.8% of the goal to restore the lake to a 12,000 TDS level. If one or more of the proposed deals cannot be closed for any reason WBC would propose to replace with another pending deal.
