Project Title: Overcoming Obstacles III: Creating and enhancing Golden-winged Warbler, Northern Bobwhite and American Black Duck Habitat in New Jersey
Organization:
New Jersey Audubon Society
Project ID:
2004.18.062786
Description:

NJ Audubon (NJA) requests support from the Conservation Partners (CP) program (staff & project costs) and the Working Land for Wildlife (WLFW) program (staff costs) to improve habitat for three Working Lands for Wildlife species:Golden-winged Warbler (GWWA), Northern Bobwhite (NOBO) and American Black Duck (ABDU). This continues work underway since 2013 to engage private landowners in GWWA habitat creation as funded, in part, by NFWF CP grants in 2013 and 2016. In addition, we seek to advance habitat creation and restoration for two newer WLFW species: NOBO and ABDU. NJA, with NRCS and the USFWS, will provide technical and financial assistance to private landowners enrolled in the WLFW incentive program. The work and products described in this proposal are part of a multi-year, multi-partner, landscape-scale conservation initiatives to rebuild and maintain healthy populations of GWWA and NOBO, and a more recent focus to advance habitat creation and restoration for ABDU.
