Our project will repair and improve the rest stop on the 7-mile Wildlife Drive and transform it into a truly informative and visitor-friendly "Welcome Station" with the goal of improving the experience of the thousands who visit annually to observe, photograph, and learn about refuge wildlife and migrants as well as enjoy and appreciate the diverse habitats on which the wildlife depend. Improvements will include ADA-compliant/paved sidewalk and kiosk area; updated and expanded interpretive/informational signage; message area and brochure racks; minimal-maintenance, ADA-compliant seating/picnic area; and trash receptacle.
