Description:

Combine multiple data sets on fish tissue contaminants into the publicly accessible Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation-Environmental Health (DEC) contaminants database. Project will complete three studies to improve spatial and temporal understanding of mercury and other metals in multiple species of freshwater fish, expand the DEC interactive fish tissue monitoring map and contribute to future fish, wildlife and habitat conservation areas near proposed large mines.

Location:
Fish tissue samples were collected at National Wildlife Refuges in Alaska. Data analysis will occur at CSP2(Chickaloon, Alaska) and DEC offices (Anchorage, Alaska). It is anticipated that some travel between CSP2 offices and the DEC and FWS offices in Anchorage will be needed.
