Description:

Implement an intensive conservation breeding and reintroduction program for ‘Alala, the Hawaiian crow, within Pu'u Maka'ala Natural Area Reserve on Hawaii Island. Project will execute the fourth of five planned years under phase 1 of the recovery program and includes producing 15 juveniles via the conservation breeding program, the release of approximately 11-13 juveniles into managed native forest habitat and monitoring of each release cohort - there are currently 20 free living ‘Alala.
