Restore aquatic connectivity and reduce sedimentation through riparian corridor enhancement to benefit the hellbender, freshwater mussels and fish in the Upper Tennessee River Basin in southwestern Virginia. The project will remove 1 fish passage barrier, open 5 miles of stream, construct 2 miles of livestock exclusion fencing, restore 3 miles of riparian forest buffer, establish 10 hellbender nest sites, and utilize environmental DNA sampling for future project prioritization.
