Pilot restoration of priority coastal habitat in a flood-prone area of the Town of Brookhaven to benefit priority bird species and other wildlife, reduce flooding, and better protect inland areas from rising sea levels and storm events. Project prepared for removal of a coastal road that regularly floods due to sea-level rise contributing to a larger ongoing multi-faceted coastal retreat and floodplain restoration on the 7,600 acre Mastic Beach/Shirley peninsula.
