Description:

Install Engineered Log Jams (ELJs) on Patterson Creek, a key tributary to the Scott River, consisting of 12 single rootwad structures, three double rootwad structures and one apex jam, with associated planting of cottonwood and willow, to enhance rearing habitat for over-wintering and over-summering Southern Oregon/Northern California Coho Salmon. Project will enhance floodplain connectivity and result in improved groundwater recharge and primary food production for coho salmon.

Patterson Creek is a tributary to the Scott River, entering the Scott from the west side approximately 35 miles upstream of the Scott River confluence with the Klamath River, in the Scott Valley, Siskiyou County, Ca. The upper end of the project reach has perennial cold water.
