Description:

Use swallow-tailed kite and red-headed woodpecker as ambassadors to engage private forest landowners across the Southeastern U.S. in forest management to improve habitat benefitting a wide range of wildlife species. Project will engage landowners and foresters through workshops and provide management recommendations including retention of large trees in longleaf pine and bottomland hardwood forests and wider forested riparian buffers that provide for ecological, economic and societal benefits.
