Restore and maintain up to 100,000 acres of longleaf pine habitat through longleaf plantings, groundcover restoration, prescribed fire, invasive species control, and rare species recovery within northwest Florida and south Alabama. Project will relocate 1,200 gopher tortoises, support red-cockaded woodpecker population recovery by installing 200 artificial nest cavity inserts and releasing 150 captively reared reticulated flatwoods salamanders to restored wetland habitat.
