NFWF Grant Profile

Restore the floodplain of the urban Wolf River watershed in Memphis, Tennessee, to provide environmental education for adults and students and to involve volunteers in stewardship events. The project will engage 800 volunteers and an additional 400 students to plant remove 10 acres of invasive species, plant 2,500 native trees, remove trash and tires at targeted sites, plant native species and build and install nest boxes for birds and bats, among other activities.
