Conduct commercial demonstrations in the Hawaiian swordfish and Taiwanese tuna longline pelagic fisheries to improve branchline weighting designs to improve seabird bycatch mitigation. Project will conduct a meta-analysis to determine whether alternative branchline weighting designs cause significantly different region-specific seabird catch rates towards improving evidence-informed management of Laysan and black-footed albatross bycatch in the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands.
