More waterfowl winter in Coastal Louisiana than any other place in North America. It is critical that these birds have wetland habitat to rest and recover. Each November Louisianna farmers flood tens of thousands of acres of rice fields to give millions of birds a point of refuge. This effort is made possible through grants from the Recovered Oil Fund for Wildlife administered by NFWF.
