Community Stewardship
Caring for the natural places that exist in and around the communities where we live is the basis of NFWF's community stewardship programs. In urban areas like New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, Chicago and San Francisco, community actions are revitalizing parks and natural spaces to benefit people and wildlife. Across the West, NFWF is working with farmers, ranchers, foresters, federal and state partners, and other nonprofit organizations to support conservation on working lands. And in the South, NFWF is working with private landowners to conserve historic forest and freshwater ecosystems.
